Canada

The Canadian flag was introduced in 1965 and replaced the British red flag (the Red Ensign) with the sign of the shield situated at fluttering part. Two vertical red bands represent the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans and the blood of fallen Canadians in the First World War. White represents snowy areas in the north. The maple leaf is a traditional symbol of Canada.
