India adopted the current flag as a national symbol in 1947 after declaration of independence. Three horizontal bands with the emblem in the center. Orange represents courage, dedication and Hinduism. White represents purity and truth. Green fertility and faith. Blue wheel symbolizes life in movement and death in stagnation and the Indian Ocean.
