Netherlands

Dutch flag has been used since 1630. This flag with three equal horizontal bands is one of the oldest and first tricolor flags in the world and it has become a model of the flag of the French, Russian and other tricolor.
The colors date back to the time of Prince William of Orange, who led a rebellion for supremacy in the second half of the 16th century. The upper band was originally orange, but the volatility of the dye that migrated into the red, became the official color red.
