Botswana adopted the flag in achieving independence in 1966, The flag of Botswana has the form of five horizontal bands. Blue represents water. The economic life of the country is mainly dependent on the rainy season. The white-black-white stripes in the middle of the flag symbolizes the rational harmony and peaceful co-existence of indigenous Africans and European immigrants.
