Guyana introduced its flag in 1966 after declaration of  independence. The red triangle symbolizes the strenuousness population-building a new state. The black hem is a sign of patience and perseverance. The yellow arrowhead aims to the future and represents the mineral wealth of the country.The white line is a symbol of rivers and green represents landscape.
