Papua New Guinea

Papua – New Guinea got the independence in the year 1975, but its flag was introduced in the year 1971. Five stars arranged to the constellation of South cross is because of the influence from Australia. The yellow outline of the bird of paradise on the red triangle comes from the period when the country was the German colony. The bird is the symbol of the union and the freedom of the country. Black and white colours on the flag can be often used in the art of local aboriginals.
