Saint Vincent and the Grenadines

The Islands Saint Vincent and the Grenadines got the independence in the year 1979. The inhabitants did not like the previous flag and the listed competition for the new one. The winner was the design of the Sweden graphic. The victorious flag was introduced in the year 1985. The squares were in the pattern of the letter V and they symbolize islands of Saint Vincent and his nick name called antil jewels. The blue strip on the flag symbolizes the sky and the sea. The yellow one symbolizes warmth and light of the tropical sun. The green strip represents fertility and vegetation.
