San Marino

San Marino got the independence in the year 1253. The flag comes from the year 1797 and Napoleon respected it as the flag of independent country. Double coloured flag symbolizes white surrounded snowy mountains, clouds and peace. The blue half symbolizes the sky. In the middle of the flag is coat of arms with three towers. They represent three castles built on the highest mountain called Titano and symbolize the ability of the state to defend their country. The sign is decorated by the wreath. Under the crown is the inscription: Libertas(freedom)
