Sri Lanka

The flag of Sri Lanka was introduced three years after they got the independence from the Great Britain in the year 1948. The lion holding the sword represents ancient buddhistic kingdom. The green strip belongs to the Islam Marvels and orange one belongs to the Hinduistic Tamils. Since the year 1972 are shown on the flag four leaves of saint tree where had happened the change of the Gautama prince on the Buddha.
