Suriname

The flag of Suriname was introduced in the year 1975. The flag consists of colours of the main political parties. The green colour represents the fertility of the country and its several possibilities in the development. The white colour remains justice and freedom. The red is the colour of the love, progress and steadiness. The yellow symbolizes self-sacrifice for common joy, regard to other people and movement to the golden future of Suriname. Five – pointed star is the expression of the union consisting of different ethnic groups.
