Syria

The current version of this flag was introduced in the year 1980. The flag carries pan Arabian colours. The red strip means victorious bloody battles. The black is the colour of oppression and the white strip is the symbol of the future. Two green stars on the flag come from the period of unification of the Arabian republic when they represented Egypt and Syria.
